The Vulture Strikes Again!

Once again, the Twins were up against their AL Central Rivals, the Bitch Sox. Kyle Lohse turned in his best performance of the season reminding me of why I wanted him to pitch in the 2002 playoffs. 6 1/3 innings, 5 hits, 2 runs not a bad line for him.

Anyhow, if you have been following the Twins this year, you konw that Al Newman Twins 3rd base coach calls reliever Juan Rincon the Vulture because he steals wins from Twins pitchers. Well he did again tonight. He pitched 1 2/3 innings (7th and 8th) and in the top of the 8th, the Twins got 2 walks, then two hits and scored 2 runs to go ahead 3-2. In the bottom of the 8th, Rincon gives up a 4 pitch walk, then strikes out the next two batters on 3 pitches before getting a pop fly to end the inning thus earning once again, the win for Juan Rincon.

The game ended on a strike-out throw-out double play as henry blanco fired to 2nd and Rivas applied the tag. Bring on game 2 tomorrow!

Go Twins!
